The Amplifynet iJanus range allows you to share the load between 2 (or more) WAN connections. You can use the same type of WAN connection or different types; e.g. 2 ADSL connections or 2 cable or 1 ADSL and 1 cable, or 1 ADSL and dial-up ISDN. The iJanus allows you specify what percentage of the load should be borne by each WAN connection.
As connections are opened to the Internet from the LAN, the iJanus will assign them to one or other WAN channel as specified by the load-sharing parameter. Your download speeds do not double, but, for example, a long download, will not slow down Internet access for other users on your LAN.
The iJanus can also operate with one of the WAN connections in "stand-by" mode: if the main WAN connection fails, it will switch to the other and back again when the main WAN connection comes back online.
